Being a model without padding, Forma is suitable for those accustomed to riding on medium-width rigid saddles. The Forma model was designed for cyclists seeking greater seating comfort than that provided by the narrower Composit version.
The patented features of Selle SMP, namely the completely free central channel, the original eagle-beak nose, and the raised rear portion, give these models an extra touch of aerodynamics. "Designed on your body," the saddle's advertising headline, best defines it.
Suitable for people with a medium-wide pelvis.
Studies conducted by various universities in the United States, Norway, and Austria have shown that compression of the pelvic viscera and pudendal arteries can have serious consequences on the genital apparatus of athletes and enthusiasts.
The SMP Patent comes from the study of the positions assumed by the rider during various phases of the route and the resulting interaction between the saddle, pelvic viscera, and genitals with the aim of avoiding their compression and rubbing while improving blood flow to the leg muscles. The pelvic viscera are housed in the central channel of the saddle, up to 5 cm wide, and are not compressed, allowing natural, complete, and continuous blood flow. The cyclist's seating is distributed between the buttocks and the lower part of the pelvic bone (the ischial tuberosities).
The front part, characterized by the original eagle-beak shape, prevents genital compression and provides a good support base for the characteristic pushing pedaling.
At the rear of the saddle, there is a depression that allows the coccyx not to touch the saddle, avoiding shocks caused by rough terrain.
The junction line between the rear and front parts follows the shape of the thigh muscles to always ensure maximum blood circulation for greater pedaling power and reduction of annoying tingling.
