Speedgrip compound technology

The new grain granted tires have a composite compound designed for gravel and cyclocross use: Speedgrip.
Developed starting from the formulation applied to Scorpion MTB tires - the Smartgrip - The new Speedgrip maintains the same polymer matrix by improving rolling efficiency.

High mileage and tires with high smoothness are important factors in the gravel guide, both in the race and in bikepacking practice, and when you travel a mix of asphalt, gravel and rough soils. For this reason, the Pirelli technicians worked by finishing the compound with the aim of limiting the dissipation of energy. Speedgrips maintains the same resistance to the laceration of its MTB counterparty, as well as its high chemical adherence (known as GRIP on the wet), with a reduction in rolling resistance to a level very close to that of pure road racing tires.

The mechanical resistance of the Speedgrip compound reduces the possibility that any pointed object penetrates or cuts the tire, with consequent greater efficiency of protection of the layers of high resistance fabric below.
The Cross and belted grain tires gravel allow you to drive faster in curve and at higher average speeds on the straights, with a lower drilling ratio than the typical configuration.
